Meet Us

Elissa Kleinhaus, LMSW
Elissa has provided support and guidance to hundreds of seniors, working as a
geriatric social worker in New York City since 2004. She was a case manager for
homebound seniors at the Carter Burden Center for the Aging in Manhattan and, for
seven years, a senior social worker at DOROT, a New York-based social service
agency for older adults. Trusted in the field, she also has expertise in benefits and
entitlement counseling, hospitals, and assisted living residences. Elissa received her
Masters in Social Work at Columbia University School of Social Work and a BA from
Barnard College.

Katie Kluger, LMSW
Katie is a geriatric social worker in New York City and has worked with older adults
since 2007. She worked for eight years at DOROT, a New York- based social service
agency for older adults living in the community, first as a synagogue outreach social
worker and then as a senior case assistance social worker. A leader in the profession
and known for simplifying the complex for her clients, she also has expertise in
long-term care facilities, hospice care, and caregiver support. She is a certified
Information and Referral Specialist in the field of aging. Katie received her Masters in
Social Work from Fordham University School of Social Service and her BA from the
University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Sasha Stim-Fogel, LMSW

Sasha comes to Live Connected with a decade of experience in geriatric social work in New York City. Sasha worked as a Case Manager and later a Case Management Supervisor at Heights and Hills, one of the largest providers of social services to older adults in Brooklyn. More recently, Sasha worked at DOROT, a social services organization serving seniors in New York. Sasha has expertise in caregiver support, dementia care, and long term care planning. Sasha received her Masters in Social Work from New York University's Silver School of Social Work and her BFA from The Cooper Union.
Elizabeth Parlakian, LMSW

Elizabeth has worked with older adults since 2010. Her career in geriatric social work began as a case manager at Heights and Hills in Brooklyn. From there she moved to Search and Care, a Manhattan based social service agency. As Senior Social Worker and later Programs and Services Coordinator, she specialized in cognitive care and caregiver support. She has considerable experience helping older adults and their families navigate changes affecting independence and health and is skilled with benefits and entitlements counseling, hospital, rehabilitation and care coordination and caregiver support. Elizabeth received her Masters in Social Work and her BA from Fordham University.
